Ed Stelzer

Ed Stelzer is the former Senior Vice President & Counsel at Zurich Insurance Group’s Centrally Managed Businesses and Global Life North America. In that role, he was responsible for a wide array of legal, litigation and regulatory issues around the globe.

Prior to Zurich, Ed was associated with the firms of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. While in private practice, he represented public companies, boards of directors, senior executives, and creditors’ committees in commercial transactions and disputes relating to mergers and acquisitions, securities class actions, shareholder derivative suits, internal corporate investigations, white-collar actions and other securities and finance-related matters. Ed also was head of business development at a high-growth wireless technology company in Silicon Alley.

After graduating summa cum laude from Yeshiva University, Ed received his J.D. with honors from the New York University School of Law where he served as Notes & Comments Editor for the NYU Law Review. Ed also was a law clerk to Justice Stewart Pollock on the New Jersey Supreme Court. Ed is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
